We applaud your efforts to date to defend New Hampshire's natural and cultural heritage from the proposed Northern Pass transmission line. Please join us in making sure that our children and grandchildren can pass this vital heritage on to their children and grandchildren. Please ask Northeast Utilities and Hydro-Québec either to bury the entire project in New Hampshire or stop it altogether.
Everywhere we look we see proposals for new high-voltage, direct current transmission lines. In Maine, Vermont, and New York, new north-south high-voltage direct-current lines are being proposed completely underground or underwater; even Hydro-Québec itself is advancing an underground transmission project to connect with New York. Everywhere we look we see new, innovative underground transmission technology proposals. Everywhere except New Hampshire.
Governor Hassan, before you host the New England Governors and the Eastern Canadian Premiers here in New Hampshire this July, please make it clear that New Hampshire welcomes each of them to our magnificent state. But please also convey the message that we will insist on smart, well-planned energy projects that advance a clean energy future and we will not welcome any overhead extension cords like Northern Pass that provide little benefit to the state, at the expense of our natural and scenic resources.
Because I am a former resident of the North Country, Dalton, NH I respect and love the natural environment and would like to see it preserved for future generations. Bury or don't' dare.

NH is beautiful! Don't ruin it.

It's important that we stand up and say no to this. Destroying the beauty of NH is too great an expense. Find another way.

New Hampshire should and can move to protect what is greatest about the state by protecting its beauty. Please, use creative thinking and planning in going forward with energy projects.

I don't go to the woods and mountain tops to view man made structures. This will impact my experience when I come to NH.
I lived in NYS when the line was put through the Dacks to bring power to NYC. We could not stop that. I hope you can stop this.

Our country's grandeur is worth the extra bucks that it would cost to bury this line. At the least, a compromise should be reached.

In 1964 - '66 I attended Belknap College in Center Harbor. Most recently, I hiked up the Jewel Trail to Mt. Washington in October of 2013. The biggest assets that NH has are it's people and the natural beauty and resources of the State. I oppose it.

The reasons are obvious. The earth has been raped and pillaged enough, already. Leave SOMETHING natural for those of us who care!

The sight of power lines and towers will just ruin the natural beauty of the White Mountains. It will never be the same.

The proliferation of fossil fuels is an unnecessary and dangerous proposition for the future of New Hampshire and the United States. Please stop the Northern Pass and encourage sustainable, low-impact sources of renewable energy. Thank you.
Ryan Hillabout 11 years ago North hampton NH
Please don't let this project go through the way it's planned. I want Northern pass but i want the company to do it right and respect our State and bury the lines, please dont let this ill conceived project be attatched to your name.

Those towers would absolutely destroy the beauty of the White Mountains.
