Please join us in making sure that our children and grandchildren can pass this vital heritage on to their children and grandchildren. Please ask Northeast Utilities and Hydro-Québec either to bury the entire project in New Hampshire or stop it altogether.
Everywhere we look we see proposals for new high-voltage, direct current transmission lines. In Maine, Vermont, and New York, new north-south high-voltage direct-current lines are being proposed completely underground or underwater; even Hydro-Québec itself is advancing an underground transmission project to connect with New York. Everywhere we look we see new, innovative underground transmission technology proposals. Everywhere except New Hampshire.
Governor Hassan, before you host the New England Governors and the Eastern Canadian Premiers here in New Hampshire this July, please make it clear that New Hampshire welcomes each of them to our magnificent state. But please also convey the message that we will insist on smart, well-planned energy projects that advance a clean energy future and we will not welcome any overhead extension cords like Northern Pass that provide little benefit to the state, at the expense of our natural and scenic resources.
People get taxed for "views." Will the Northern Pass be taxed for taking away the beautiful views in NH?

This is as important to our future as saving Franconia notch & creating the White Mountain National Forest was in the past. Other states are burying transmission lines, why shouldn't we, if we build at all? Please do more!

We are building our retirement home very close to where these lines would be, and we do not want to see them ruin the pristine beauty of this area, ESPECIALLY in light of the fact that we would not benefit from the power that flows through them.

Why dig 20-35 ft every 800 ft along187m of rugged terrain when option of 42" along highways. NP avoiding this option. $s in use of ROWs. What if PSNH/NU sold to a foreign Co. Who would control the ROWs? Future in burial along highways with HVDC Light.

There are other affordable options for HydroQuebec and PSNH than building these towers. They are burying in neighboring states; let them bury the lines here!

Northern Pass will hurt NH in many ways. I have not problem with it IF it is underground but if it isn't the beauty of NH will be gone. Greed has taken over too many times in the decisions that have been made with the beauty and life of the rest of us.
