Please join us in making sure that our children and grandchildren can pass this vital heritage on to their children and grandchildren. Please ask Northeast Utilities and Hydro-Québec either to bury the entire project in New Hampshire or stop it altogether.
Everywhere we look we see proposals for new high-voltage, direct current transmission lines. In Maine, Vermont, and New York, new north-south high-voltage direct-current lines are being proposed completely underground or underwater; even Hydro-Québec itself is advancing an underground transmission project to connect with New York. Everywhere we look we see new, innovative underground transmission technology proposals. Everywhere except New Hampshire.
Governor Hassan, before you host the New England Governors and the Eastern Canadian Premiers here in New Hampshire this July, please make it clear that New Hampshire welcomes each of them to our magnificent state. But please also convey the message that we will insist on smart, well-planned energy projects that advance a clean energy future and we will not welcome any overhead extension cords like Northern Pass that provide little benefit to the state, at the expense of our natural and scenic resources.
I love the scenic beauty of NH and spend hours hiking there every year when I am home. Power lines would definitely ruin the beauty for me. Please insist that they be buried.

If I cut down a tree in the National Forest I would be arrested but we are going to let a foreign company cut down thousands of trees to pass unneeded power through N.H. for other states? Let get off foreign oil and stay off foreign electricity!

I grew up in NH. It breaks my heart to see what might happen with the installation of these power lines. I don't live in NH now but NH is my heritage. Iti is my kids' heritage. Please bury the lines or stop the project.

There's a mystical character to NH. People see the state as a symbol of freedom and beauty. We would be politically weak to allow the towers when states around us are burying. We would be foolish to let these towers mar the state's unique visual beauty.

Once the landscape has been denigrated by these power lines there will be no turning back. These lands must be left unmarred and wildlife, especially birds, must be protected from the detrimental effects of these power lines. KILL this project please!
