We applaud your efforts to date to defend New Hampshire's natural and cultural heritage from the proposed Northern Pass transmission line. Please join us in making sure that our children and grandchildren can pass this vital heritage on to their children and grandchildren. Please ask Northeast Utilities and Hydro-Québec either to bury the entire project in New Hampshire or stop it altogether.
Everywhere we look we see proposals for new high-voltage, direct current transmission lines. In Maine, Vermont, and New York, new north-south high-voltage direct-current lines are being proposed completely underground or underwater; even Hydro-Québec itself is advancing an underground transmission project to connect with New York. Everywhere we look we see new, innovative underground transmission technology proposals. Everywhere except New Hampshire.
Governor Hassan, before you host the New England Governors and the Eastern Canadian Premiers here in New Hampshire this July, please make it clear that New Hampshire welcomes each of them to our magnificent state. But please also convey the message that we will insist on smart, well-planned energy projects that advance a clean energy future and we will not welcome any overhead extension cords like Northern Pass that provide little benefit to the state, at the expense of our natural and scenic resources.
To preserve our most valuable asset in NH: our mountain vistas and ridge lines. PLEASE.

Have property in NH. I hike and come to NH often. I really do not want to see the impact this would have on our beautiful mountains.
Please preserve it for our children and grandchildren.

I believe that all the power lines for the Northern Pass Project should be underground!

I just finished hiking the NH 4000' peaks, and I'd hate for something that will enrich so few affect the view. A project for the greater good, maybe, but a select few will profit from it. Let them also be the ones to food the bill to bury it.

Because they are going through neighborhoods and it's not safe to live next to powerlines! Also, they are a blight on the landscape!

Two of my friends and I are planning a two week hike on the AP this fall, specifically because of its incredible beauty. Please don't take away one of the worlds natural wonders and ruin the landscape by builiding ugly towers.

Because there are other methods to run the cable, specifically underground in state-owned corridors. Our scenery is beautiful; let's keep it that way!

Northern Pass proposes stringing up a giant extension cord across New Hampshire, disregarding its scenic landscapes, quality of life, property values, and tourist industry. Giant towers above the forest canopy would be an ugly scar across our state.

My time in NH is precious to me.. I should be greatly saddened to see its inherent beauty sacrificed when alternatives are available. We need to be thinking about the legacy we leave to our children and their children.
