We applaud your efforts to date to defend New Hampshire's natural and cultural heritage from the proposed Northern Pass transmission line. Please join us in making sure that our children and grandchildren can pass this vital heritage on to their children and grandchildren. Please ask Northeast Utilities and Hydro-Québec either to bury the entire project in New Hampshire or stop it altogether.
Everywhere we look we see proposals for new high-voltage, direct current transmission lines. In Maine, Vermont, and New York, new north-south high-voltage direct-current lines are being proposed completely underground or underwater; even Hydro-Québec itself is advancing an underground transmission project to connect with New York. Everywhere we look we see new, innovative underground transmission technology proposals. Everywhere except New Hampshire.
Governor Hassan, before you host the New England Governors and the Eastern Canadian Premiers here in New Hampshire this July, please make it clear that New Hampshire welcomes each of them to our magnificent state. But please also convey the message that we will insist on smart, well-planned energy projects that advance a clean energy future and we will not welcome any overhead extension cords like Northern Pass that provide little benefit to the state, at the expense of our natural and scenic resources.
I want to preserve the natural beauty of my state.

The landscape of Northern New Hampshire is one the best in the country, it would be a shame to see such a beautiful area scarred when there are alternatives out there.

I have lived, worked and gone to college in New Hampshire. These landscapes are precious and important to the entire nation. We have a responsibility to defend this landscape against desecration. Bury or Stop the Northern Pass.

We need to maintain the integrity of the WMNF. There are too few places where one can escape and not witness man's affect on this world.

There are clearly other options that do not involve overhead lines. I do not believe the people of New Hampshire need to settle for such a gross intrusion for what appears to be the sole sake of lining the pockets of shareholders in Hydro Quebec.

Don't let big utilities destroy the gem that is NH with their short-sighted plans. Though I live in MA, I spend many of my weekends hiking, skiing and enjoying the beauty of NH.

New Hampshire forests are some of the most beautiful I've ever seen and would hate to see them destroyed with electrical lines.

I've spent 40 summers in the White Mts, with my child and now my grandchildren. I'd like their children to have the same experience of the magnificence of Norther N.H. that I have been privileged tp enjoy.

The scenic splendor of northern New Hampshire is our stock-in-trade and we don't need it despoiled by Northern Pass. The "benefits" of this poorly conceived project are short term at best, the black mark on our landscape will last forever.

I was born in New Hampshire and love its beauty. I want to keep it that way. Our lovely view of the mountains from our home in Rumney has been destroyed by 24 wind towers. Enough is enough!

Have visited the region on many occasions w/ friends and family and we as a nation can't afford to wreck our natural habitats. They're far too precious than the immediate economic gain - which will only be fleeting and won't last nor be worth it.

I returned to the area after years living out of state to enjoy the views i so love and missed. Please don't let these high voltage lines change this landscape. I also work in vacation rentals and know that we would loss a huge source of revenue.
