Please join us in making sure that our children and grandchildren can pass this vital heritage on to their children and grandchildren. Please ask Northeast Utilities and Hydro-Québec either to bury the entire project in New Hampshire or stop it altogether.
Everywhere we look we see proposals for new high-voltage, direct current transmission lines. In Maine, Vermont, and New York, new north-south high-voltage direct-current lines are being proposed completely underground or underwater; even Hydro-Québec itself is advancing an underground transmission project to connect with New York. Everywhere we look we see new, innovative underground transmission technology proposals. Everywhere except New Hampshire.
Governor Hassan, before you host the New England Governors and the Eastern Canadian Premiers here in New Hampshire this July, please make it clear that New Hampshire welcomes each of them to our magnificent state. But please also convey the message that we will insist on smart, well-planned energy projects that advance a clean energy future and we will not welcome any overhead extension cords like Northern Pass that provide little benefit to the state, at the expense of our natural and scenic resources.
I have vacationed in the very special White Mts. every Summer of my life, there aren't enough protected natural places left on the Earth & we need to protect
what is left.

I make frequent trips from Maine to hike the White Mountains. This area really is the centerpiece of New England and I have to assume it's also a strong economic engine for the state of N. H. Why would you want to despoil this majestic wilderness?

I grew up in Clarksville New Hampshire and I spend many hours taking photos of the beauty in the North Country. We need work in the North Country and these lines will destroy our tourist industry. Please help us Governor.

I grew up visiting these areas as a child. Its bad enough future generations won't "meet" the old man of the mountain. PLEASE bury these power lines so our children's children can appreciate the unspoiled gift of these precious areas!

Bury the lines if we need this, it will be better for the scenic integrity of the state. Tourists are not going to bring money into the state to see power lines that can be seen in so many other places. Protect the mountains and forests.
