"Disobedience" Available to Screen Online This Friday
CMG Focus Fund Grantee Kelly Nyks of PF Pictures is releasing his latest documentary, Disobedience, free for viewing online starting this Friday, April 29th. This sequel to the well-received documentary Disruptionis a new film aimed to coordinate with the worldwide 350.org Break Free from Fossil Fuelscampaign May 4-15, 2016. The film & campaign encourage viewers to mobilize around keeping coal, oil and gas in the ground and to inspire a transition to 100% renewable fossil fuel. Our $100,000 CMG Focus Fund Grant supported the worldwide production & distribution of the film.
Live online screenings are being planned across the country starting April 30 to support the film and the Break Free campaign. Public and private screenings will be held everywhere from living rooms and church basements to work places and independent cinemas. You can even start your own screening by becoming a host. Hosts are provided with a variety of materials to organize their screenings including downloadable posters, discussion materials and even DVDs (if needed). Your screening doesn't have to be public - you can join thousands of others by hosting your friends & family at home for an official at-home screening!
The film features verité footage of inspiring front line actions in Brazil, Turkey, Germany, The Philippines, Canada, and the United States interwoven with interviews from some of the most renowned voices in the conversation of social movements and the climate crisis, including:
